Grammar for Kossacks
Wed Jun 04, 2008 at 07:25:58 PM PDT
OK, I am finally, officially, tired of the grammar problems, misspellings, and general misuse of aphorisms.
So - fellow Anal Retentives, follow me below the fold for my rant about this.
Rove WSJ Editorial - Wright and Flag Pins is all the Republicans Have
Thu May 29, 2008 at 07:48:01 AM PDT
How sad to be a Republican these days.
Turd Blossom turns his wondrous prose on Obama and his "revisionist" history in today's WSJ.
Join me below the fold for some cold leftovers.

An open letter to Senator Clinton
Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 04:24:52 PM PDT
Dear Senator Clinton,
Prior to this primary, I was a big fan of yours. But, as people going through a divorce often say, "I don't know who you are any more".
The Onion: Diebold accidentally releases 2008 winner early
Wed Apr 02, 2008 at 02:32:27 AM PDT
Sorry for the hit and run diary... But I just had to share this.
Diebold leaks winner
Sad but funny.
What is being done to ensure no Republican funny business in the GE?
With all the candidate pie fights going on, we seem to be taking our eye off the ball.
Obama is striking at McSame, a good thing, but he unfortunately has to watch his back with respect to HRC.
Obama supporters... Rise above it
Tue Apr 01, 2008 at 02:56:21 AM PDT
Dear Hillary Supporters - Please join us
Sun Mar 30, 2008 at 08:03:36 AM PDT
We are known as the big tent party.
Given that there is little policy difference between Obama and Hillary (which, BTW, made me a JRE supporter), it is time to unite the party.
The Karl Rove Math (parody)

Join me below for some creativity regarding 'the math'
Just did this quick. If anyone wants to edit, feel free.
The math still isn't HRC friendly
Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 08:56:26 AM PDT
OK - After seeing some of the notorious "non-reality" based people discuss how HRC is up 26 in PA and "closing" in NC, I wanted to bring us all back to reality.
I did a small bit of analysis on the elections between now and the convention.

(Civility) Don't make me come up there!!
Sat Mar 15, 2008 at 03:00:58 AM PDT
I was not here during the 2004 primary season, but understand there was similar vitriol regarding "my candidate kicks your candidates ass" and "I'm taking my ball and going home if you don't stop being nice to my candidate".
So, I can't really compare what is going on now to that election.
However, I did want to chime in and discuss what we as a community need to do.
What are you doing to reduce your footprint?
Mon Feb 04, 2008 at 06:38:53 AM PDT
Riding the bus in this morning, I noted that I was the ONLY person above the age of 23 (out of about 40 riders). That made me very sad, given that I KNOW a large number of staff and faculty live along the route.
So I want everyone to share how they are reducing their footprint. I'll start below the fold
Taking a break
Tue Jan 22, 2008 at 07:07:02 AM PDT
Not a GBCW diary, but I am going to take a break for a while.
All supporters of ALL candidates are foaming at the mouth and trashing other's candidates and other candidate's supporters.
So - I can't take it any more. At least during the general, it will be Republicans doing the trashing. I know this is short for a "diary" but wanted to get it out in the open as to why I believe DK has really slipped.
Tired of the fighting...
Mon Dec 17, 2007 at 05:23:44 AM PDT
I am growing quite tired of the fighting.
I would like everyone to affirm the following.
"I (state your name) do solemnly swear to fully support the candidacy of whomever receives the Democratic Nomination".
Enough already folks. We all have our reasons for supporting our candidate, but let's try to keep it positive, OK?
Let's focus people
Tue Dec 11, 2007 at 01:28:51 AM PDT
I am so saddened to see all the hit piece diaries and the negative comments that show up in positive diaries about a candidate.
There are very serious issues in the US and the world, and bitching about "yea, but can candidate X carry Florida?" is pretty near the F-ing bottom.
So folks, can we stay focused please? Join me below for the real issues.
Getting on with my life
Wed Nov 07, 2007 at 06:52:41 AM PDT
Today, I have come to terms with the fact that I am highly unlikely to ever return to the US. This is not a GBCW diary, I will continue to come here and post, but it will be from "self-imposed" exile in Canada.
There are many reasons, of which George Bush is one of the big ones, however, that is not all. 4 years ago, I moved to Canada to take a university job, believing that eventually I would return. Today, I realized that I am much more at home here than in the US.
Join me below for the reasons of this awareness...
The New Declaration of Independence
Fri Nov 02, 2007 at 05:49:04 PM PDT
I was just reading the Original Document, and see some scary things that Bush is doing...
To Whit...
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has shown himself above the law, the laws don't apply to the executive...

Maher Arar and the Lazy US Media
Wed Oct 24, 2007 at 11:16:39 AM PDT
Dear US Media. Canada is a real country and it's citizens who are mistreated deserve some coverage from you.
Today, Condi Rice said "mistakes were made" in handling the Maher Arar case, in which a CANADIAN CITIZEN was taken into custody in the US and rendered to Syria where he was tortured.
And where is the US media on this?
NO-FUCKING-WHERE
George Bush is no laughing matter
Sun Oct 21, 2007 at 08:21:05 PM PDT
I just had a good heart to heart with my Mom, a Republican of at least 40 years who has recently become a democrat (Thanks to GWB).
Our discussion was interesting, in that she felt I treated the whole GWB presidency and the Hell we are approaching as a laughing matter.
Well.... Join me below the fold for my insight (response?)
Why does the MSM hate Edwards?
Sun Oct 07, 2007 at 06:17:58 AM PDT
That's kind of a rhetorical question, since they hate him because he will spell trouble for them.
Right now, Timmeh is trashing him on MTP, bringing up the hedge fund connection. It seems that they are trying to make him apologize for becoming successful.
He is a self-made man, the kind that Republicans hold up as icons to pulling yourself up by the boot straps.
They are all hypocrites.
Perhaps, the Republicans believe that since JRE's not about "I got mine, fuck everyone else, they just can't see it.
Sorry for the short diary, but it really makes me crazy.
HRC is fabulously wealthy as well, but no one seems to call her on it. I am SURE that SOMEWHERE she has some "questionable" investments and connections, so why do they bash JRE on it, but not HRC?
PS - JRE just said this great quote: "We can't replace corporate republicans with corporate democrats."
Think I'll change my sig line.
