Maher Arar and the Lazy US Media

Dear US Media. Canada is a real country and it's citizens who are mistreated deserve some coverage from you.
Today, Condi Rice said "mistakes were made" in handling the Maher Arar case, in which a CANADIAN CITIZEN was taken into custody in the US and rendered to Syria where he was tortured.
And where is the US media on this?
NO-FUCKING-WHERE
Today, Condi Rice said
"We do not think this case was handled as it should have been," Ms. Rice said in testimony to the House of Representatives foreign relations committee.
"Our communication with the Canadian government about this was by no means perfect. In fact, it was quite imperfect," she said.
Canada has apologized and compensated Mr. Arar for his "mishap", yet, he still remains banned from travel to the US.
Despite an apology from Prime Minister Stephen Harper and a $10-million compensation payment from Canadians for being wrongly accused of al-Qaeda links, Mr. Arar remains barred from the United States as a terrorist suspect.
Ms. Rice suggested Wednesday the travel ban won't change any time soon.
And where is the US Media on this...???
Chirp, chirp, chirp
I guess it's not newsworthy in the US. A brown person, tortured at the direction of the US gets no apology beyond "OOPS" from the Secretary of State.
PATHETIC.
And the lapdog US media can't say anything about it.
sigh...
